How many of you know about the Gem that is on our doorstep.. Just cross brockweir bridge and keep on going up the hill and you will find Brockweir shop. This is a community run shop built into a barn with organic and local produce , fresh bread and a welcoming atmosphere. Best of all there is a great coffee shop attached with wonderful views. For those of you with children they have just spent £35,000 on a new playground next to the shop , with a large Zip wire , so enjoy a coffee , have some peace from the kids and support local producers ( and prices are not expensive). http://www.bandhvillageshop.co.uk
Also one of my favorites is
http://www.rowlestonecourt.co.uk/ Closes on October 2nd This is a dairy farm near Pontrilas , It has a nature trail , a great playground a wonderful Zip wire and adventure area. The lovely coffee shop does cakes and light meals but best of all they make their own ice cream and sell it in their shop, they have a large selection and prices are not expensive, A great afternoon out whatever your age Now Open!!!!!! 11-4 Wed through to Sundays
LINDORS Another great all year thing to do is to visit Lindors Country House hotel . Go over bigswier bridge via whitebrook and go up hill towards the cleford and its on the right 1/2 mile up the road. On a nice day sit outside on the patio and enjoy the view of the huge lanscaped gardens ( you can walk around these). Or in the winter sit inside next to the roaring fire . Order a cream tea with two scones and cream, ask for an extra tea and two of you can eat and drink for £6.00. The wont mind if your children want to borrow the pitch and putt equipment and use their court, or ask about crocqet . They do a fantastic Sunday lunch or even christmas day dinner (at christmas!). They are open to 10pm and welcome non residents. The gardens are just fantastic , landscaped and peaceful and chances are it will be empty on your visit. Do not be put off that it is owned by the Christian Guild and you could even join their lesure club , it has a great swimming pool!
